With the continuous publication of the material about the tombs of woodimitation structure (仿木构墓葬) of the Sung dynasty, it is possible for us tostudy it deeply. The article collects the material about the tombs of woodimitation structure of the Sung dynasty as much as possible, and then researchessystematically the types of it. This article consists of seven sections. First section: Foreword At first, we explain the significance of the tombs of wood imitationstructure, and it means that the tombs are constructed in the way of imitating thewood structure architecture above ground. Then, the article introduces thediscoveries and research on the tombs of wood imitation structure of the Sungdynasty. The tombs of wood imitation structure of the Sung dynasty werediscovered in most areas of the Sung dynasty, and they assume some regularityin time and space. The material of the article on the tombs of wood imitation structure of theSung dynasty has appeared not sufficient in the past, and the researches were notsystematic either. This article focuses on the types of it by using the theory andmethodology of Archaeology, and researches it with the regional difference,developing regularities, the relations of all the regions, the resources andspreading of the tombs of wood imitation structure of the Sung dynasty. Second section: Classification First the tombs of wood imitation structure of the Sung dynasty is classifiedinto five groups based on the differences among parts of the wood imitatedstructure, and then, I display the demarcation of the types of these five groupsone by one according to the differences of the constructing fashions, the numberand layout of the chamber, the shape of the chamber The first kind of tombs inscribed with integral bracket system, includes thebrick-chambered tomb or stone structures tomb and cave tomb.
