Dingling was one of the most important woman writers in the history of Chinese contemporary literature, and one of the most disputed writers. Dingling has a contradictory life. Her political identity went against the actual practice of tactics: on one hand, she strayed in improper behavior and morality slide. My paper tries to analyze the source of this phenomenon and reason of the phenomenon. In my analyses, I will explain the contradictories and unusualness from this literary event and creation. The paper has three parts: the first, on the way of seeking dream---Dingling's consciousness of her identity; the second, individual drowned by multitude---the contradiction and source of Dingling's belief and tactics; the third, individuality and political nature---ups and downs of Dingling's self-consciousness in her text. Then, who is Dingling? Why did she dissimilate? W hat was the result of dissimilation?Dingling was born in 1904. As a young girl of 15 years old, she plunged into pursuit of sex liberation with zeal. But ebb-tide of "May 4" movement brought her great pang and made her get into her deepest spiritual crises. So, she began to seek a new identity for herself. From her first time to come into contact with the Communist Party to the year of 1932 she joined the Communist Party, Dingling realized her first choice on her perceptual stage while saving herself spiritually and approved her identity of a member of the Communist Party; Her life in jail during 1933-1936 confirmed her political identity rationally. In 1936, she moved to Yan'an from white area, this meant she finished her spiritual choice from individual to collective and finished re-build and confirmation of identity consciousness. Dingling's self-saving was finished through choice and confirmation of political identity. Her self-saving has two aspects: the first, from her individual belief to "creative self-saving", the second, later than 1936, her "remaining self-saving".Why Dingling's self-saving tactics declined on her morally and was "suspicious" on her personality? Why her self-saving tactics appeared as individuality of text and critical consciousness desalination? First, I should mention is Dingling's woman romantic temperament. The temperament firstly appeared as idealist and moody woman; secondly appeared as lack of rational faculty and dialectic thought; thirdly appeared as easy personality cult; Second, objective political and cultural background seriously influenced Dingling's tactic choice and characteristics. Of course, the reason of Dingling's deviation is abnormal political culture. This was her sorrow as a romanticist and also the sorrow of romanticist of an era. Dingling's sorrow lies in:The ideology, Dingling converted to, decreased the artistic characteristics of her comment and text, disappeared her cultural individuality. Dingling's early works mainly reflected two aspects—spread individuality and individual woman. She mainly used modernistic style means of artistic expression. Such as, special emphasis was laid on psychology description and etc. But, since 1930s, Dingling gradually changed her position and inclination, changing from "individual" to "collective" and from "initiate modernity" to "revolutionary modernity". Land reform epic was Dingling's representative work which reflected modern national language. In it, Dingling almost lost all her artistic individuality, including her unique natural endowment.Due to mutual blend of political identity and individuality, individuality and political nature crisscross in Dingling's literary comments and text creation, especially in great historical events. In brief, Dingling's life circumstance was an echo of Chinese new literature's fate. In a sense, Dingling's literary life locus just was the history of Chinese contemporary literature's rise and fall, and even the history of Chinese contemporary intellectuals' fate. Either Dingling's literary life or real life was a tragic...
