As a great revolutionist, thinker, writer, Lu Xun is the founders of China modernliterature. Lu Xun has devoted his whole life to using the literature to reform people’ssoul and enlightenment thought. Lu Xun disclose, or irony, or criticism in his novel bycreating a series of typical characters, and dig out the root of evil behind the tragicfate of the characters in the novel. In the research of Taiwan new literature, the one ofthe impassable and can not be ignored is Lai He. With the "Taiwan Lu Xun" said, LaiHe also concern with the public weal and woe. Lai He through the characters in thenovel, exposing and criticizing the Taiwan social life in the times background of theJapanese occupation of the Taiwan. This paper takes the characters of the Lu Xun’sand Lai He’s novel as a visual angle, through the comparative analysis, probe into LuXun and Lai He’s literature.First of all, in the first chapter mainly discusses the literature association andliterary thought between Lu Xun and Lai He. Lu Xun and Lai He both have the sameenlightenment and critical consciousness, with humanitarian and localism in literarycreation. However, Lai He growth in Japanese colonial Taiwan. therefore, inconsideration for the feudal culture and emotional self-identity and identityrecognition for nation and national, Lai He has different views with Lu Xun. Can say,compared with the positive cry of Lu Xun, Lai He appear slightly anxious introverted.The difference between literary thought is projected in the shaping of two novelcharacters.In the second chapter, a comparative analysis of the oppressed women image ofthe novels of Lu Xun and Lai He. Lu Xun exposed the feudal "three big mountains"of the patriarchal, the husband and the theocracy to women’s oppression anddevastation in his novels. The women in Lai He’s novels is trapped in the double siegeof the feudal and colonial.In the third chapter, a comparative analysis of the alienated intellectuals of LuXun and Lai He’s novels. The intellectuals in Lu Xun’s novels always have the trauma,and bound to his tragic fate. Lai He revealed the nature of the colonial compromiseand hypocrisy in Taiwan intellectuals.From the oppressed female image and alienated intellectual images, we can see the national inferiority. Therefore, in the fourth chapter, the comparative analysis ofwriting of the poor root in the national image of Lu Xun and Lai He’s novels. Lu Xuncreated a series of modern China silence of the soul in the novel, their cowardice,bully the weak and fear the strong, with "A Q spirit". While Lai He portray Taiwanpeople tame the colonial character in the Japanese occupation of the Taiwan time inhis novels.Through a comparative analysis of Lu Xun and Lai He’s novel characters, it mapout the similarities and differences between Lu Xun and Lai He’s literary thought. Inthe issues of anti feudal and anti colonial, both of them have very different priorities.But this also makes Lu Xun and Lai He’s artistic style shows unique personalitydifferences in the same. It can also reflect the complexity of the relationship betweenthe influence and communication of mainland new literary and Taiwan new literature.
