The purpose of this study was to investigate peer victimization focusing on children who were concurrently aggressive and bullied in Chinese children's peer groups which labeled as "aggressive victims". We identified 18 aggressive victims out of 479 students, which from grade 4 to 6 of primary school in Shanghai. These aggressive victims represent a distinct and potentially high-risk group and experience adjustment problems in multiple domains of functioning. According to the study, we found that in Chinese context, we can identify the aggressive victims the way the western study were. We can use the similar criteria and get the consistent sexual difference as them. These Chinese children have behavior profiles similar to Western children who are identified as aggressive victims. We examined their social behavior from three perspectives: submissive/withdrawn behavior, assertative/prosocial behavior, and hyperactive behavior. The aggressive victims in Chinese peer groups are less submissive or withdrawn than other students except passive victims in the current study. They have lower social preference scores, hostile intent and attribution, and maladapted coping styles, than other subgroups of Chinese children in our study. We also found that friendship have substantial buffering effect against peer victimization.
