The Comparison Of Teenager Character Education Between China And America

From a macroscopical view, the thesis analyzes the teenager character education between China and America by combining the literature search with the society investigation. It also applies the methods of the agreement between history and logic and the unification between longitudinal comparison and transverse comparison. The thesis begins with the definitions of character and character education and addresses itself to the significance of strengthening character education. Then it systematically and comprehensively compares the American character education with the Chinese character education in terms of character structure, character education history and contemporary character education respectively. Finally, based on reality, it puts forward some opinions and suggestions as for the goals and countermeasures of the Chinese character education. By comparison, it reaches the conclusions as follows: First it has become a common trend for education to transfer from knowledge education to ability education and to character education. Second, there are some complements between the Chinese character education and the American character education as well as some differences and intercommunities. From the practical demand of education modernization of China,, it is a right choice to inherit the Chinese traditional advantages of character education and absorb the distillations of American character education, which helps to strengthen and improve teenager character education of China. Third, it is necessary to follow the principles of culture conformity, innovation and opening, reality transcendence and integrity optimization so as to build up the molding mechanism by means of education, market and culture.
