Since the 80s of the 20th century, a high tide has taken shape to study Yuan Haowen and his works while a lot of achievements have been emerged after the memorial of his 800th anniversary birthday. But the academic circles pay little attention on the philosophical art and live implication of Yuan Haowen's poems after the Jin dynasty , which not only contain intense and meaningful philosophy, but also have lively and humourous sentiment. Compare with the deep and profound philosophical art of Song dynasty, Yuan Haowen's works represent philosophical art of the Jin and Yuan dynasties and embody unadorned literary characteristics. On the other hand, Yuan Haowen has produced lots of writings which incarnate life implication. Both flowers and stones have been portrayed with stamina and spirit as the poet dedicated his life to keep the culture of the Jin dynasty, these form the important contents of his poems. The comprehension of philosophical intention and life idea in Yuan Haowen's poems is a precondition of appreciating his writings. The objective factors of the time and the geographical environment and the subjective factors of the approach towards religion and contucian culture both affect his composition.
