Love is one of the eternal topics of human beings and also one of the most important research subjects of ancient Chinese literature. This paper doesn't study the developing history of love, but expounds the ideal of love in the writing and the love story in history of literature . What is the ideal love in the mind of writers? And which kind of love is the best in ancient writer' view? And the ancient love's ideal enlightens the modern society. The writer of this article considers that the ideal love is the agreement and joy between natural subject and spiritual temperament, is the sincerity and freedom of heart and sensation, is the significance of the life, and is the sincerest, the kindest and the most beautiful performance. The whole thesis consists of seven chapters.Chapter one narrates the stress of this paper.Chapter two expounds the riping course of love. Love is the true life. Love is the fragments of life; is the fond expression in his (her) eyes; and is the warm hug and the all-out support and mutual understanding. This chapter includes three parts: getting along, parting, reuniting after a long separation. Ancient writers thought that the ideal way of getting along between lovers were: domestic harmony, mutual respect, ease and relax. Paring tests and nurtures love on the condition of passionate trust and miss. Because of the torment of parting, reunion becomes more pleasing and valuable.Chapter three, the love between Du Fu and his wife Yang Shi is the most typical example in ancient times. They share comforts and hardships, stand together through thick and thin.Chapter four, the affection between Li Qingzhao and Zhao Mingcheng is full of romance and mutual respect and comprehension. It is the integration of the love into the marriage in the basis of cherishing the same ideals and following the same path.Chapter five, the love between Li Longji and Yang Yuhuan in the book of Chang Sheng Dian is "exceptional" in the monarch family. This attachment is full of sincerity and concentration.Chapter six, the love between Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu in the book of The Dream of Red Mansion is a type of the love affair that doesn't long for sex, is the spiritual love affair. They are "comrade-in-arms".Finally, the ancient love's ideal enlightens the modern society as to the idea of affection.
