From 1980's,Chinese contemporary art had experienced a complicated trip. For example, the "the enthusiasm of wound" was a reexamination of the culture liberation, "the ardency of rural flavor" emphasized national minority of north west in China, "85 new trend" was a complete copy of western modern art, "political pop" "poppy" and commercial art had ideology of the cold war, and so on. Many kinds of art came to the stage in the recent decade. Till 1990's, with the deep going of the opening door to the outside world policy and the unify of global economy, the greatest change in China is "urbanization", which is developing with a dramatically speed all through China even the world. In addition, it also has huge impact on Chinese contemporary art.Initially, there are changes in artists' creation subjects. The situation is most obvious in the field of paintings. Such as, "urban series" of Chen Wen Bo, "face mask" of Zeng Fan Zhi, "tropical birds" of Wang Xiang Ming, "mini family" of Zeng Hao, etc. All the subject matter of art works is from the city life. It is totally different from the stylized Chinese art before, which was rural, nostalgic and nationalistic.Next, there are changes in artists' using of materials and tools. Such as the "appearance", "ground zero" exhibition, they are researching the conception of "synthetic material" that has achieved with the condition of the industry society. Plenty of video, photograph and DV works also become the important part of Chinese contemporary art. Then, there are more artists getting involve the public space. The action art of Zhao Ban Di & his panda makes it closer between art and the city. Besides, public sculptures supply more opportunities for the artists to communicate with public directly. So the process of "urbanization" is meaningful for the Chinese contemporary art. Firstly, with mature politics, economy, culture condition, urban can create a good environment for artists, and artists can promote the "urbanization". At present, Shanghai, Beijing, Chendu are three important centers of Chinese art.Secondly, with dramatically developing of urban, it courses many complex social troubles. The Chinese "urbanizing" contemporary art is a response to these problems. It can be seen from many art shows, Chinese artists are concentrating on the different social ideology and a lot of social problems with humanity.Thirdly, Chinese "urbanizing" contemporary art states 'a new time after the global"cross-culture".At the beginning of 1990's, on the international art stage, "China" came as a "foreigncountry". But due to the constant collision of "east"& "west", "tradition"& "modern"face to face, carrying on the traditional culture, now Chinese artists begin to create anew art mode mixing reality and modem in the process of "urbanization".As far as the future of Chinese "urbanizing" contemporary art, it is summarized asbelow:The first, for developing Chinese "urbanizing" contemporary art, wp can study theoperation mode of western market It has set up a series of mature system after along time. As an example, "planner system" came into use in 2002 Shanghai two-yearexhibition.The second, in the trend of global "urbanization", we should communicate initiatively. Joining in 25th Saint-Paul two-year exhibition and building Chinese hall in Venice two-year exhibition, which can prove that only on the base of native culture, we can take principal part in the international dialogue with our creative wisdom. Finally, we should set up an "urbanization" way with Chinese feature, instead of "fake urbanization". Some works of Chinese young artists become more and more modernized on their appearance. On the contrary, they are more and more pale in their content. So during this special period, we must give a reply only from the true life surrounding us.
