Objective:(l) The study probed into the characteristics of job stressor, sense of control, coping styles and mental health. (2) To find out the relationship of the above factors and to examine the mediating effect of perceived control and coping styles. The study aimed at providing theoretical basis for job stress management.Methods: The study assessed the status of job stressor, sense of control, coping styles and mental health of manger and LISREL was employed to explore the job stress process.Results: (1) The main sources of stress manger came from interpersonal conflict among members, and other stressor were role stress, perceived career development, organizational structure, home/work interface and characteristics of the job itself.(2) The significant differences were in job stressor, sense of control, coping styles and mental health of manger.(3) The minority of manger showed low-grade symptoms on obsessive-compulsive, paranoid ideation, interpersonal sensitivity, hostility, depression and anxiety, and serious symptoms on depression and hostility.(4) Job stressor made directly detrimental impact on mental health. The sense of control and the coping styles worked as mediator between job stressor and mental health.
