Content: In the field of bilingual storage, there has been a debate between thecoordinate system hypothesis and the compound system hypothesis. There are two reasons which are in support of the coordinate system hypothesis. One is the short experiment (Goggin & Wickens, 1971) and the vocabulary check experiment (Krisner, 1980). Another is that there are no quite the same experimental results in some same experiment ( such as Stroop Test ), so it is believed that some subjects' meaning expression of two languages is under the coordinate system hypothesis. After the research into the concerned theory, this paper indicates that the short experiment (Goggin & Wickens, 1971) and the vocabulary check experiment (Krisner, 1980) can't back the coordinate system hypothesis, because the work emphases of those experiments lie in morphology, rather than semantic process. And according to the xperimental studies, there are no quite the same experimental results in some same experiment ( such as Stroop Test ), which is not because of the difference of storage styles of meaning expression of two languages, but because of the balance of two languages or not. Namely, the concluded experimental facts can't be in sustentation of the coordinate system hypothesis. So, the bilingualism is stored according to the compound system hypothesis , rather than the coordinate system hypothesis. Furthermore, on the basis of it, a new compound system model is put forward in this paper.
