Research On Zhou Zuoren's Thoughts In "Art Of Living"

This dissertation engages in the researching work from point view of humanity, axiology, ontology, after supposing that Zhou Zuoren lives in the modern mixed instances of china in 20 century.Taking the ideal harmonous hanmanism as the answer of the theme "human modernization"during the process of native modernization.Zhou must meet with the double alternatives of culture accepting or rejecting and life accepting or rejecting which results in his "art of living" ,his idea embodies strong sense of ontologic fulfilness.The dissertation consists of three parts:the forming foundations,contents,and contemporary significance . "art of living" embodies Zhou's humanity, philpsophy, aesthetics concentratively ,it is thoughts of "man's proper life"according to "man's problem"and manifests the seeking of harmonious humanity idea,and this seeking must be a dialoging process between man to himself.man to nature,man to social ,this is to say :the idea of harmonious humanism,the designation of positon of human itself be only realized by approaching to different noumenons. As a aesthetic life practise, Zhou's work consists of the answers to the relations of man and. himself, man* and nature, man and morality. And these answers also explains how Zhou overcame the cultural difference between china and western countries .between traditon and modernization, and how he engaged in seeking the idealistic humanism .which also continious."Art of living" tells Zhou's puzzles of life and sensibility contradiction in the special situation of modern china. The elites lies in his seeking man's self-significance on the background of man's realistic live,lies in his finding comfort of sense and support of significance from the aesthetic live,these become ways of breaking away from the bothering of inconsistent culture. As the first generation of intellectual, Zhou not only inherited the traditonal native "aesthetic utilitarianism", but also created modern sprits of aesthetics,and tried the possibilities of humanism dialoge in the multi-epoches.
