A Research Into Chinese Contemporary Pop Song And Its Singing Style Developing Trail And Problems Correlated With It

This research is focusing on the singing style of Chinese contemporary pop song. This thesis puts the Chinese contemporary pop song and it's singing style into this coordinate, with the history of pop song as ordinate and the realistic social culture influence as abscissa, trying to acquire clear and all-round cognition.(1) With regard to the developing history of pop song's singing style, this thesis tries to comb its historical features, thereby, to grasp its main trail.Chinese contemporary pop song is a new form of vocal music. It emerged with the "reforming and opening" progress of Chinese society, so it is inevitable as pop song develops. The development of Chinese contemporary pop song can be divided roughly into three stages : (Dthe embryonic stage, ï¹–he developing stage, ï¹–he preliminary prosperous stage. In the course of development, the singing style has changed greatly. This series of changes marks the aesthetic conceptions of Chinese vocal music evolving into a new stage.(2) Connecting with relative social culture, this thesis tries to find out the comprehensive factors influencing the singing style of pop song, to grasp its forms and significance in the social culture level.In conclusion, the main factors influencing the singing style of pop song are as follows: (1)Political factor, (2)economic factor, (3)character of the singer, (4)media power, (5)social culture in mental state, (6)oversea pop song, (7)modern technology. Besides, pop song is also closely related with the public culture and adolescent sub-culture. Linking pop song and the singing style with these factors, a clearer cognition will be obtained. Furthermore, this thesis divides pop singers into several kinds, for a singer of different type has different singing technique.
