Zhang Wei, as a writer, has strong desire of speech and moral consciousness, and his works are of strong lyrical and poetic quality. When we read his works, we are immediately struck by the excitement and indignation permeating between the lines and pouring down his pen. This kind of excitement and indignation results directly from his pursuit of "truth" and "poem", He constantly maintains that a novel is a poem and a novelist.is a poet. Strong speech cannot do justice the artistry of the novel which is an art of speech. When the strong moral speech conflicts with the artistry of the novel, Zhang Wei, by meticulously creating images of world of his own novels, successfully solves both the conflict between "reality" and "poem" and the conflict between "reality" and "skill, so as to make his novel demonstrate a peculiar characteristic. To Zhang Wei, image in a sense is a particular way to express, namely, an art symbol of intelligence and sentiments, and a carrier delivering feelings as well. To a certain extent, the images Zhang Wei has chosen have just geared with his view of art and his characters of art. In a word, with the construction of the image world, the poetic description and the enormous enthusiasm thrown on the rural area and natural scenes of mountains and rivers. Zhang Wei harmonizes feeling, reason, and scenes, thereby building up his ideal and moral mansion. He has established a monument for his novels.
