In recent years, many detailed researches and various new developments in stylistics have been made with fruitful results, and at the same time different stylistic schools come into being mainly through transdisciplinary researches. However, most groups exclude the theories of others few of them focus a comprehensive study of the subject. To counter this tendency, the present research tries to put forward a pluralistic and complementary model (PC model) as well as a tolerant and open attitude in stylistic research or even in the whole academia. In order to do this, the current thesis has been organized into appropriate parts. After an underlying introduction, it presents a review of various one-sided stylistic approaches and the previous attempts of the comprehensive orientation. Then, by drawing upon dialectical methods from deduction to counterevidences, it manages to make, theoretically and practically, a detailed analysis of various kinds of stylistics, and with pros and cons compared. As a result the superiority of the pluralistic and complementary approach to others has instantly become clear. A separate discussion is also devoted to the assessing and exhibiting of its applicability. It is also hoped that this will be a contribution to a healthier development of stylistics.
