Based upon the philosophy from ancient China, the dissertation employs some concepts such as "artistic conception" and "imago" in industrial design. The process of "object-imago-image" is used to actualize the translation from the ties of nature to the aesthetics of mass-produced artifact.Firstly, a brief description of Mother Nature from the natural forms in real world to some related concepts in aesthetics study is presented, and the vital and particular effect on human life made by nature is also expatiated.Secondly, the meaning of "aesthetics" and "industrial design" and the relationship between them are examined. The thesis accentuates the basilic effect that "aesthetics" made on human being and industrial design, and discusses the relationship between Mother Nature and product design by treating artificial world as a mirror image of natural world. This thesis put its emphasis on the last two chapters. It examines the relationship between the processes of art composing and product design, and finds that those ways and means which are employed by artists are also applicable to designer. Then, "Experience" is accentuated as the headspring of all kinds of creation because of its significant effect on creationary work. Thirdly, based upon the theory of "intentive thinking", the route of "object-imago-image" to industrial design is introduced. At the end of the thesis, the author demonstrates how to apply the process of "object-imago-image" in design with example of mobile design.
