Study On The View Of Literatural Value In The New Age

The view of literatural value should be studied from the characteristics of literature itself,namely, aesthetic ideology ,which means the literature value has close relationship with ideology .In a certain society, different classes, stratums or society groups have their own ideologies, and different subjects who possessing distinct ideologies would be from their own views of literatural value to treat the literature .So the study of the view of literatural value may be achieved by analyzing the subject and the ideology behind the subject.Concerning different situations of the ideology, the literature in the new age can be divided into three stages: the first stage from 1976 to the beginning of 1980's,the second stage from that to the beginning of 1990's,and the third one from the beginning of 1990's to now. Different stages have their own view of the literatural value. The artistic and literatural thought of Mo Zedong practiced as a mistaken ideology by the "the Gang of Four' during the period of "Cultural Revolution". So in the first stage, the special emphasis of literature was laid on eradicating the wrong ideology caused by "the Gang of Four". Symbol is a expressing pattern with superficial/profound structure which may remove the conflict and end the confusion resulted from "Cultural Revolution", so it was the ideal expressing model. For transcending the symbolic pattern, in the second stage, the literature wanted to acquire the subjective position for itself. Various literatural trends, such as Xungen literature, modernist, vanguard literature, and neo-realism literature, established their independent art world in different ways, and criticized the unreasonable main ideology. After the 1990's, the ideology became a plural situation including the view of litratural value and during that time, commercialized literature and vulgarized writing were in vogue, which made a great impact to the classical and theme literature.Under the position of the plural views of literatural value, many people advanced different assumptions to establish the new view of literartural value. Cultural universalism is a preposition of complete westernization. Folk standpoint, in view of the interference in literature of the governmental ideology, proposed that literature and art should exist in the nongovernmental culture. However, the folk is an inattentive structure and ambiguous concept with many reasonable factors and mistaken ideologies, vitality and iniquity together, so it can not be the socialist view of literatural value. Neo-enlightment propose "self-enlightment", emphasizing the value of individual, which established the subjective value of man on the base of abstract individual, and can not solve the problem how to achieve the individual value and where the power of enlightment are from.The standpoint of the people is a completely new view of literature value. It not only criticizes the unreasonable reality and actively participate the construction of the main ideology. Its point of departure is the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the people, with advanced proletarian consciousness ensuring the right direction, and its sole purpose is to serve the people and the socialism. So it has become the socialist view of literatural value.
