In this dissertation, the author tried to use text interpretation and induction methods to identify the growing tracks of modern intellectual females from feminine writing in the 90's, analyze the paradox they encountered in self-development and intersexual relationships, and explore the characteristics, merits, significances, limitations, and possibilities of feminine writing from a critic point of view. The study was done in the context of feminine criticism from a perspective of introspection. The major objects of study were novel texts written by mature female authors in the 90's, which focused on self-development of intellectual females, usually covered the period from adolescence to the establishment of self-identity, and explored the role of intersexual relationship in self-development, self-identification, and self-improving of female individuals. The logical thread of this dissertation was: "A summary of the topics and texts in feminine writing -- A study on the self-awareness and self-reflection of feminine authors -- An inspection and review of the 'properness' and 'Deflection' in feminine writing".This dissertation was composed of four chapters, plus prologue and epilogue:Chapter 1 Feminist Criticism and Feminine Writing: This chapter explored the relationship between feminist criticism and feminine writing practice, and identified the range of texts under study and the validity of the theoretical background of this dissertation.Chapter 2 Intersexual Predicament and Paradox of Growing: This chapter was devoted to identify and characterize the male characters in feminine writing texts and their roles in the growing of female individuals, and to analyze the self-development and self-reassurance of the female characters. Discussion was focused on the key proposition of the paradox between the pursuit of individual freedom and the desire for love, which was encountered by intellectual females in intersexual relationships and intensively explored by feminine writing. The causation of this paradox was also introspected in this section.Chapter 3 Survey and Introspection of the 'Ugliness' of Females: In this chapter, the author studied the feminine writing texts from a critic perspective, analyzed and commended the feminine writers' awareness of the human weakness of female and their creative efforts in introspecting such weakness in their texts.Chapter 4 Properness and Deflection in Feminine Writing: In chapter 4, the author discussed and clarified the 'properness' and the 'deflection' in feminine writing in its cultural and era background from three aspects: the positive and negative effects of feminist theories on feminine writing; contrast between different emotional trends in feminine novels and feminine essays; and the undesirable trend of writing in a commercialized society. Also, this chapter explored the possibility of feminine writing's development in text and writing.
