The study of jade and bowlder in China has covered 7, 000 years., The jade culture plays a very important role in the development of our splendid Chinese civilization,,The development of jade culture is right the evolution of the jade carving Just as a Chinese saying goes, "Without carving the jade can't be called a jade " The beauty of jade not only resides in that of its material, but also in that of its exterior form and ornament and of its handcraft Only when the above-mentioned three elements are united in one can the jade be thought as a wonderful craftworkoThis dissertation aims to explore the aesthetic significance of the jade carving from the following five perspectives:1 The aesthetic significance of jade embodied in culture;2 The evolution of jade carving;3 The common ornaments of the jade;4 A study is conducted to explore the traditional artisanship with an emphasis on comparing the form beauty of some representative jade with one another, among which include the Birds' and Flowers'jade carving of a few dynasties, and a comparative analysis of the jades adorned with landscape and Chinese landscape painting and of their layouts and the ways of expression;5 An analysis is launched with the craftworks of the artists such as Wang Zhongyuan, Shi Linmei and Lu Liefu etc as examples aiming to reform the modern design of the artisanship...
