Color as a 'meaningful' painting language, has special implication in painting and cannot be replaced by any other painting language. Color's status as the most important factor in painting art, as a kind of 'meaningful' artistic symbol, is self-evident. The thesis elucidates the origination, evolution, and conveyance of painting color in painting from the perspective of formal evolution of painting color language, from the perspective of the corresponding state of painting color and painter's subjective consciousness, from the perspective of the interrelationships between painting language and technique. Color as painter's important means of expressing the emotions and meanings, displays a trajectory of outside sketching to inside deeper development of the heart with the ever deepening of painter's sense of the esthetics. This process brings about the glamorous, colorful changed style of paintings. With a positive and verifying attitude and on the solid foundation of the art theories, the thesis through the meticulous analysis of the art activity history of the painters, proves that an artist's unique perception of the world is accomplished through painting language---an important formal factor. Painting language, as a symbol of painter's artistic spirit, has a power of directly targeting human being's mind.
