On The Connection Between Color And Emotion In Landscape Oil Painting Creation

Oil painting is an irreplaceable and extremely important creation type in modern painting system,and landscape oil painting is one of the most common creation subjects in modern painting.Color in landscape oil painting can not only restore and beautify the landscape,but also can imply rich emotions.For landscape creators,flexible expression and use of color can make the works show the painter’s rich emotions.Color is the most direct,intuitive and important visual modeling element to express emotion in landscape oil painting.It is also the most important painting language and creation means in landscape oil painting,with extraordinary expressive force.It can directly touch people’s inner world,build a bridge between creators and viewers,so that viewers can perceive creators’ psychological activities and emotional changes through color.And different artists use different ways to convey emotions through color.Some painters are good at using subjective colors to express their inner feelings;Some painters use the color of objectivity to express the painter’s true feelings towards the object.Some painters will create different color atmosphere to describe the emotional changes in the heart through the sense of rhythm of the picture.The first chapter of this paper starts with the relationship between color and emotion,and expounds the relationship between color and emotion as well as the emotional embodiment of color in landscape oil painting.The second chapter analyzes the color and emotion in the paintings of Van Gogh,Lopez and Utrillo through individual cases.Finally,I seek for the connection between color and emotion and the emotion expression of color in his landscape oil painting.
