Design has a direct-view style and a kind of special character.Various design concepts and schools, which are usually evolving, altering, changing and transforming, show us the development and rough sketch of modern design. The changing of the concepts and schools constitute a kind of common feature of different design under the leading of a same theory.Modeling, which has many limitative conditions and reasons, is just one way to express design. Different style of politics and economics, production ways, society culture and tradition, nation as well as location form these concepts and thoughts, which, generally speaking, include customers, science development, schools of arts and revolution of society. Only we know all these elements, can we make the problem clear thoroughly. Thus, our design thought is come from real life, not from hollow imagination.Specific style symbolizes mature design. It is a system that is composed of several factors mentioned above. It harmonizes elements in the system and distinguishes from other styles. Comparing the arts of decoration and post-modernism in modern design history, this article aim to analyze the different and similar place of the two styles, and then give out the similar rules, the important element of which is customer. Thus, the essential to the rule is the need of man and the development of economy.People have different understanding to design. Some think design is from life; some think it beautifies life; some think man is the center of design; some think design is the love to man. Different world outlook lead different understanding to design. Therefore, we may see various styles.
