The aim of this research is to probe into the effects between student's self-esteem and attribution style on those juniors' sex, class, the result of studies and the attitude of their families' parenting attitude. The purpose is to understand the condition of development of students' self-esteem and attribution. The research subject mainly comes from one private school in Macau and using the questionnaire to collect the information. Totally 334 students who study in primary 2, 4 and 6 have been asked. The research instruments included "The Self-esteem Inventory", "The attribution style Inventory" and "The parenting attitude Inventory". The research data was analyzed by one-way ANOVA, two-way ANOVA and independent t-test. The findings are as follows:1. The junior class students have more self-esteem than the senior class students. The self-esteem grows lower as they grow older.2. There is a close relationship between the academic result of the students and their self-esteem. Students who get good academic result have higher self-esteem.3. The senior class students count their success on their good capabilities. Otherwise, they think their failure because of lazy. This attribution will have positive effects on the development of the students' self-esteem and their future expectation.4. The students have negative emotion if their results are always in the lower average. They think their success because of the simplicity of the work; however, their failure is on account on their low abilities and bad luck. Those factors influence their self-cognition, emotion and their behaviors on negative effects. On the contrary, having higher marks students think in positive ways, they think their successful because of their hard-working. This idea makes them feeling satisfactions and pride. Meanwhile, it helps the development of self-esteem in the positive way.5. Most students think their successful and losing because of hard-working. From this point of views, hard-working plays a very important role in their hearts.
