The Last Scene Of The Cold-war Between The U.S.A. And The S.U.

American president Reagan announced his "strategic defense initiative" to all his peoples through the TV on the night of March 23, 1983, which later was called "Star wars " speech. The "Star wars" program lasted from the later cold-war period to the beginning of the post cold-war times. It was a time that international structure, especially American foreign strategy was greatly adjusting, and it was at this time that the cold-war between America and Soviet Union draw to the end. My thesis just try to show readers a complete "star wars" program tin the four chapters.The first chapter discusses the origin of the "star wars" program. The changing posture of the cold-war between American and SU and the appearance of "Reagannism" were the chief circumstances. The "economic reconstruction plan" and the "industrialize outer space program" were the economic gist of the program. American missile defense system's development during the last decades of years post world war II provided very important technical bases to the program.Chapter 2 bears the main weight of this thesis, it explores how did the program produce and implement in two sections. During the course of the program produced, lieutenant general Graham is very important. From the start-upped in 1985 to the end of the cold-war, the "star wars" program has made many achievements in many areas such as laser weapons, kinetic energy weapons, acquisition technique and computer technology, etc. At the same time, because of the disagreement in the union, the program has never been disposed.Chapter three deals with the influences of the "star wars" program. The primary target of the program is to against SU, so the influence to the SU is a standard to review the program. Through analysis, I think the program has dragged down SU to a certain degree, so the program has gained its ends on the whole. The primary influences of the program to the western Europe are technological, under the influences, western Europe countries initiated the "Eureka program".The fourth chapter discusses the change of the international structure and the transition of the "star wars" program. In the beginning of the 1990s, the cold-war ended abruptly, and it challenged the "star wars" program greatly. Through the efforts of Bush and Clinton governments, the "star wars" program had finally transited to the "ballistic missile defense" program successfully, which include "NMD" and "TMD". Thus, the program lasted for about 10 years eventually fulfilled its historical task.The "star wars" program is the outcome of the Cold-War between America and soviet union, and with the end of the cold-war, it's over is certain. My thesis just try to show the readers a complete "STAR WARS" program.
