On The Relationship Between Translated Literature And Short Stories Of Club Of Literature-Studying (1921-1927)

From the birth of Chinese Modern Literature, it had close relationship with foreign literature, which is undoubtedly true for the literary history. The influence of foreign literature took effects in virtue of translated literature—the medium between foreign literature and Chinese literature, which is also accepted by the research circle. However, the key of this kind of study is the results of the influence from foreign literature on Chinese literature. Thus, the dissertation chooses to analyze this problem from the aspect of the relationship between creation of short stories and translated literature in this period. It chooses Club of Literature-studying as its object of study because of its illustrious achievements of short stories and translated literature.The dissertation includes three chapters. The first chapter traces back the three climaxes of translation in Chinese history and concludes the characteristics of each stage; then introduces the first climax of literary translation in the 20th century. It attaches great importance to the literary translation of Club of Literature-studying. The second chapter is divided into four sections. The first two sections introduce the short stories after the Movement of "May Fourth" and the creation of Short Stories on Question. Section Three explores the relationship between Short Stories on Question and translated literature. Section Four is the study of individual case—the relationship between Wang Tongzhao's short stories and his translation. The last chapter has three sections. The first section introduces the creation of Short Stories on Countryside. Then the following section is the analysis of their relationship with translated literature. The last section is also the study of individual case of Wang Luyan's short stories and translation.In the view of this dissertation, the creation of short stories of Club of Literature-studying in this period has close and deep relations with translated literature.
