Yudafu is a writer in the history of Chinese modern literature as well as a practical critic in the field of the theory of literature. Yudafu had his own opinion on the proposition of Human Literature, that is, Human Nature and Genius or Talent. And that he attached importance to Atman in literature deeply rooted from the traditional culture and was influenced by the western modern thoughts. It is the basic literary concept that supported Yu's critical practice and held a steady position. Yu is not a standpat monologuist, and he had positive comment on Proletarian Literature and Mass Literature persisting in his own core concept.Yudafu always had critical consciousness. His opinion on the status of criticism went through less importance to importance, and at first he regarded critics as appreciation of literature, then he recognized that the critic were as important as the writers. The changing process was a course of dialogue that Yu talked with the era and literature currency. Yudafu's critical attitude was pure-hearted, tolerant and sympathized in which the sincerety was the core, the tolerant was the principle, and the sympathy was the method. The three are the one and cannot be parted.YuDafu's critical articles are mostly not sticked to one pattern. The length of his critical articles displays the depth of Yu's thought on some literary problems; the themes are about the problem in composing or the phenomena in society and politics or survey on the achievements in a period of the literature history. Those displayed that Yu was paying attention to and thinking about self-consciously the living literature phenomena in his critical practice. A part of his articles on introducing and commenting on foreign writers and works display a kind of unique lingual characteristic: argument and sensation are blended, then implied his attitude on writers or works.
