A Study On The Urban Historical Geography Of Hancheng

Hancheng lies in the east of Shaanxi province and its about two hundred and forty-four kilometers to xi'an. Hancheng is also an important door leading to shanxi and even Beijing . It begin to be called Hancheng county in A.D. 589 in Sui-Dynasty and use this name till today . Because of its unique cultural and urban characteristic , Hancheng was named one of the second national-level historical cultural cities in 1986.Because Hancheng is a little city, especially a historical cultural city, we can say that it is an important and interesting thing if we have a study on it. So this thesis choose hancheng and use the theory and way of the Chinese Historical Geography to expound the development and evolution rules .At last the author give some constructive advices to the reversion and protection of the historical cultural city. Also the paper can give an example study to other historical cultural city.The thesis makes the research into Hancheng in Shaanxi province from the following five chapters :The first chapter researches mainly on the historical and geographical foundation about Hancheng's rise and development. The author remarks the three city's site in ancient years of Hancheng.The second chapter expounds the evolution of form, develop characteristic of Hancheng Also the author analyzes the reasons, which owns to the urban defense system.The third chapter mainly discusses the internal spatial structure and summarize the characteristic .The author also points out the reasons that the city's evolution , development is ascribe to the pattern in ancient city of our county build system since Ming Dynasty.The fourth chapter gives some examples, such as county administration in feudal China, Confucian temple ,Town God's Temple ,to further explain the concert evolution of internal spatial structure of Hancheng.The fifth chapter discusses how to protect and use of the historical cultural city of Hancheng .The author puts forward some suggestions in the development of tourism and economy of Hancheng.Though the primary study of the Urban Historical Geography of Hancheng , the author think it may have some innovations in learning:...
