Research On Historical And Cultural Heritage Protection Mechanism In Old City Reconstruction

Ever since the rapid growth of modernization and economical development in China,along with the accelerating urbaniztion,the infrastructure of old towns no longer fullfill people's rising needs and living standards.In these old towns,incompetent funcions,unhygienic environment and chaotic layout have impacted city's construction and image severely.Rebuilding old towns is ineitable while developing cities.China has a very long history background.Historical heritages are irreplaceable,precious cultural resources and national spritual symbols.It is also essential to the nation's growth and one of the key elements of the national soft power.Cities,then,are physical embodiment of these histotrical heritages.The historical architecture and landscape delivers cultural information and imprints of historical transitions.How to preserve these priceless historical inheritence during reconstructing the old town is now the main issue to conquer.Learning from the past experiences,as the awareness of preserving historical heritages rises,it is more and more important to reserve the heritage while rebuilding.Urban historic characteristics are slowly becoming a key element of the cities' planning and rebuilding.Therefore,studies along these areas are becoming more and more important as well.Linfen,locating at the south of Shanxi,pivot of traffic,prolonged history,is one of the origins of the nation.The anciantLinfen was first built during Chunqiu,located at Hexi.Beiwei then moved it.Originally only built by mud,Hongwu rebuilt and expanded it in the Ming dynasty.After many wars and multiple reconstrution,only part of the walls at the northeast corner still survives,though the top is mostly invaded by residential housing.In this area,the rebuilding project does not only include infrastracture and remodling,but also repairing and restoring.This project can represent some of the studies of protecting and restoring the historic heritage during remodeling ancient cities,thus this text focus on Linfen'sGouhao district rebuilding project,and dicuss the preserving machanisms during rebuilding ancient cities.
