A Study On Chinese Conversational Structure And Its Transformation Mechanism

Conversational structure is a topic of interest to both pragmatics and discourse analysis, but the achievements of study combined with Chinese facts are far from enough. When the study is occasionally conducted, generally only the static structure of a conversation between two persons is described, with the dynamic transformation of two or more persons being ignored. Sometimes the way of dynamic transformation is possibly concerned, however, there is little further study on the generating mechanism of its inner impetus. Therefore, this thesis which is based on Chinese facts, makes a detailed analysis of the static and dynamic stracture of the conversation with two or more persons involved, probes into the generating mechanism of the conversational transformation's inner impetus and tries to prove the study's value by applying its conclusion to literary criticism, making the analysis of characters and discourse structure.The first part is the introduction, which concerns the delimitation of studied object, the study value, a review of the achieved and a prospect of the future.The second part puts forward some concepts such as Conversational pair, Conversational unit, Conversational seat and the absence of Conversational unit to Conversational seat, and then applies them to the analysis of characters in literary criticism.In the third part, the author makes a static description of the combination types of Conversational pair?The fourth part probes into the dynamic transformation mechanism of non-interruptive conversational unit transformation and interruptive conversationalunit transfermation, proposing a mode of information variation during the process of non-interruptive-conversational unit dynamic transfermation and a timing mode of conversational unit transfermaiton. The mode of information variation is then applied to discourse structure analysis and analysis of the types of conversational unit transfermation and non-interruptive conversational unit transfermation with the conversation of two or more persons concerned.And the conclusion comes in the fifth part, which makes a summary of the thesis and gives the reasons why so many mathematic methods are conducted.
