The conversational of misunderstanding of the representation is a common linguisticphenomenon in real life. The conversational of misunderstanding of the representation ismade up of two types, DASA type and IASA type. We use description and induction methodsto investigate the mechanism of the formation and transformation of two types of theconversational of misunderstanding of the representation The formation process of DASAtype is different from IASA type. DASA type is defined as a phenomenon in the process ofverbal communication in which the listener can’t understand the speaker’s utterance with adirect expression of representation speech act. The formation of DASA type is related to voice, vocabulary, syntax, context, psychology, pragmatics and so on. IASA type is defined as aphenomenon in the process of verbal communication in which the listener can’t understandthe speaker’s utterance with a indirect expression of representation speech act. The formationof IASA type is related to vocabulary, syntax, context, pragmatics and so on. Thetransformation between DASA type and IASA type is based on the difference in the formation.process. Through analyzing the transformation between DASA type and IASA,we draw aconclusion that the basic reason of the formation of the conversational of the representationmisunderstanding is related to reach a consensus with each other about the communicativecontext. To investigate the conversational of misunderstanding of the representation has apositive effect, which avoids the failure of verbal communication and promote exchanges andcommunication between the listener and the speaker in the communicative process.
