Poem Study Of Huang Jingren

Huang jing ren(1749~1783)is a famous poet of emptor qianlong of qing dynasty, name hanyong. another name zhongze, while he called himself lufeizi, he come form wujin country of Jiangsu province and he is a descent of huangtingj ian. His collection Hang dang xuan ji is composed of 1178 poem, 216 ci and six articales," totally 22 volumes.He lives his whole life during the prosperous period of Qing dynasty. But his father died early and a lot of relatives also passed away cause him suffer a lot in a poor family after that. He is a genius boy when he was young, he can write poems at the age of seven or eight and he win the NO.l among 3000 students when he attend the children's examinations. When he grow up, he fall the examination several times. So he have to make a living by being a guest in the office since he was nineteen years old and take the chance to tour around many place of china, such as jiangsu province, zhe jiang province, anhui province and shang dong province. He got promoted when he was 26 years old and brings his family to live in Beijing. But the family lives a poor life and he was badly ill. So finally he send his wife and children home five years later. Two years latter, he got a poor job after a long wait but died during his way to the job in yuncheng city of jie zhou.The poem of huang jing ren is mostly about poverty and sickness, which is closely related to his life. Since he was proud and became famous when he was very young while didn't got better social statue accordingly, he prefer to talk about the dark side of the society rather than the bright side. He has several love poems too. Most of them can move people to tears. His mountain and river poem got many praise form the critics of each dynasty after. Yuan mei once said that his poem watch tide is wonderful. There's many poem was write for the amusement of friends.His poem is cover with a sorrow atmosphere. He stressed these feeling by using moon, autumn, liquor and crane. Moon is regard as quite and peaceful by people. But in his poem, the moon represents his dig nation and loneliness. Autumn isvery often in his poem. The autumn is sadly and deadly, which show the many failure in his life. The more his life get poorer the more liquor showed in his poem. They are cither painful or sorrow in its meaning. The poet wants to relief his pain by liquor. Crane is a noble bird in Chinese poem, but the crane in his poem is sick or lonely or caged, thus showed the specific characteristic of the poet himself.As for the art achivement he made, some say li bai is huang jing ren's teacher, and others say he learned form many people and create his own character. Actually, he do learn a lot form former scholars such as li bai, du fu, han yu, li Shang yin, huang ting jian, and li he. But in general, he is different in his own. His poem is generally depressed and sorrow, his poem is moving more because the true feeling it shows that the art technique it use. Among the many schools of poem in Qing dynasty, his poem is the most closed to that of xing ling scholars. We can see he is really a xing ling scholar himself. But since his poem is mostly sorrow and lack of the interesting of other xing ling poets, so he was not noticed for a long time. Bui personally I think we can attribute him to this catalog form his truly, magnificent and genius poem.
