Culture in Liang Dynasty is the most prosperous of Nan Dynasties. Why come to this circumstances? As is said by Li Yan-shou, Emperor Liang Wu liked literature very much, he always encouraged people to go on literature and those who liked literature were prized or promoted by him. So a lot of people encouraged themselves in literature. Record of Documents of History of Sui also believed that Emperor Liang Wu was keen on culture, so many families collected or created works about culture in country. Monarch Xiao Liangs not only actively went on literature in person and created a lot of works, they but also promoted others who went on literature. The culture prosperity of Liang Dynasty depended on encouragement of Monarch Xiao Liangs to great extent. Yet, Liang Dynasty was exterminated by Hou Jing and Xi Wei Dynasty, so later generations were apt to ignore culture achievements of Monarch Xiao Liangs. Recently, Gong 71 Poem of Monarch Xiao Liangs have been great paid attention to, but actually, Gong Ti Poem was only a little of their culture. Academic circle have not summarized else culture achievements of Monarch Xiao Liangs. Such research method and corresponding conclusions still deserve debating. On the base of historical facts and research production of predecessors, this thesis strives to have an all-round exploration on culture merit of Monarch Xiao Liangs.The thesis includes some parts as below:The first chapter, formation and evolvement of culture tradition from Han Dynasty to Liang Dynasty. From Confucianism in Han to Metaphysics in Wei and Jin Dynasties, then to literature in Nan Dynasties, mainstream culture changed many times, but the climate of worshipping culture which formed with Confucianism in Han Dynasty was succeeded. Such climate was a historical impulse of worshipping culture of Monarch Xiao Liangs.The second chapter, culture minds of Monarch Xiao Liangs who turned from military force to Monarch. The later-ancestors of Xiaos descended from military force, whose culture abilities were poor. In that time, Shi Zu, the most nobel class, worshiped culture very much and belittled military force. Influenced bysuch social climate and drawing history lessons that monarchs of Song and Qi Dynasties hadn't prosperous culture, Monarch Xiao Liangs, especially, Xiao Yan, tried their best to upgrade their culture. In order to conquer Shi Zu in culture psychology, Monarch Xiao Liangs strained to learn Confucianism, Metaphysics, Buddhism, literature and else arts, therefore their culture assumed wide-ranging. Behalf of their political rule, Monarch Xiao Liangs must regard inferior hobbies of generals and soldiers from Yong and Jing, who were the basic supporting power of Liang Dynasty. As well, Monarch Xiao Liangs descended comparatively inferior culture, so culture of Xiao Liangs was worldliness in the same time. Promoted by pursuing individuality in Shi Zu, Monarch Xiao Liangs also tried to show their special and new traits in culture. Additionally, Xiao Liang's culture had the traits of pursuing speedy thinking and quick creation.The third chapter analyses the leader status of Monarch Xiao Liangs in culture. In order to conquer Shi Zu in the culture, Monarch Xiao Liangs studied hard and acquired great achievements. Their culture abilities were very wide and exceptional. On behalf of developing culture and enlarging influence of royalty, Monarch Xiao Liangs offered relatively free culture circumstances for intellect. Owe to the encouragement by Monarch Xiao Liangs, Confucianism had been revived, literature of Liang was more prosperous than of Song and Qi. Besides, plenty of culture documents were worked up and compiled in that time. The great culture prosperity of Liang Dynasty should be attributed to Monarch Xiao Liangs. In fact, they were leaders of intellect.The fourth chapter discusses poems of Monarch Xiao Liangs. Monarch Xiao Liangs thought that literature should be different from politics, personality, and that literature needed new development. So Monarch Xiao Liangs learned of Yue Fu ballad which often related to women and romantic love. Enlightened by Fu which could express everything, the themes of Monarch Xiao Liangs' poems were encyclopedical. In the course of collecting and compiling of culture documents Monarch Xiao Liangs further enlarged themes of their poems. Their poems' themes were very trivial and often involved women and romantics love, which could not be true feedback of their salacious living.
