Memory plays an important role in the daily life. It is a fruitful field and is regarded as the core of cognitive process. It is the focus of memory research at abroad and home since 1990s. Professor Yang et al. introduced implicit memory conception and methods, and have carried out a lot of researches systemically in order to further understand the nature of memory . Jacoby first studied the relationship of perceptual implicit memory and familiarity in recognition. Then many foreign psychologists and cognitive neurologists performed researches on the relationship between implicit memory and familiarity, and got satisfied conclusions, but they were indirect comparison, with inconsistent materials, variables or results. In the present dissertation, I compare directly pictures recognition and its quick identification, words cue recall and category-examplar generation in the encoding and retrieving conditions. It will instruct the stagnant trend and ravel the suspect about its existence. It is important to proceed the crossing-branch research to comprehend the mental process of implicit memory and familiarity and their common development.Task dissociation and process dissociation paradigm were used in the experiments. There are picture recognition and cue recognition in the direct test of task dissociation, perceptual implicit memory (picture quick identification ) and conceptual implicit memory(category-examplar generation) in the implicit memory of indirect test. The PDP uses remember/know procedure to compute the familiarity and recollection in explicit memory. The two paradigms are applied to the four experiments, each of which includes four stages: study, questionnaires, interferential task and test.1. In Experiment 1, the relationship between perceptual implicit memory and familiarity in recognition was compared to verify the dissociation under different attentions.2. In Experiment 2, the relationship between conceptual implicit memory and familiarity in cue recall was compared to verify the similarity under different attentions.3. In Experiment 3, by changing the stimulus during tests, the relationship between perceptual implicit memory and familiarity in recognition was examined.4. In Experiment 4, by changing the stimulus during tests, the relationship betweenconceptual implicit memory and familiarity in cue recall was examined. The conclusions:1. The attention levels influenced familiarity, recollection and conceptual implicit memory, but not perceptual implicit memory.2. On the different form stimulus, the rotations of familiar plane objects have no affect on implicit and explicit memory.3. The perceptual implicit memory is independent of conceptual implicit memory.4. Recollection is independent of familiarity.5. There is a dissociation between perceptual implicit memory and familiarity, a resemblance between conceptual implicit memory and familiarity.
