The relation between emotion and memory, especially the effect of emotion to memory, has been the widespread issue in the field of cognitive psychology. The research focused on explicit memory before, such as recall, recognition and so on. Explicit memory includes only some information which subjects could conscious definitely and could retrieve indirectly. In recent years, the research of implicit memory which can occur automatically or something out of the consciousness has been a hot topic. By this, we could understand the relation between emotion and memory more broadly. The discussion on the relation between emotion and memory, especially the effect of emotion to memory, is started on two ways basically: one is mood-congruent memory, another is mood-dependent memory. Mood is the faint, continued emotion. The research combines mood-congruent memory with mood-dependent memory, and aims at the effect of mood to implicit memory comprehensively. To investigate the effect of undergraduate students'mood to their explicit and implicit memory, we had done two successful experiments by the application of the process dissociation procedure(PDP).The experiment materials were composed of 120 pictures of affective valence included 40 positive,40 neutral and 40 negative pictures. The things, including the stimulus presenting under the control of E-Prime, the design was 3 (group) ×3 (picture valence) ×2 (test type), The 48 experimental subjects were selected from the undergraduate students of Yunnan Normal University. In the experiment, there were two sessions, study and test, and an interruption task between study and test. The subjects were required to assess the happiness of the pictures by 1 -3 point scale, complete following interruption tasks. Then recognition tests were in order administered. Before the study stage and test stage had been started, let subjects participate the procedure of the mood induction. The PDP function was used to calculate the R and A.The main findings are as follows:(1)The mood-congruent memory was expressed not only in explicit memory, but also in implicit memory;(2)The mood-dependent memory was expressed not only in explicit memory, but also in implicit memory;(3) The dissociation between explicit memory and implicit memory showed in the recognition test. The correlation between the scores of explicit and implicit test was not significant .In other words, the correlation between the conscious and unconscious retrieval...
