Adolescence is a quite special time in one's life. The maturity in physiology would cause cognitive ability, emotion maturity, self-consciousness changing greatly. The changing brings the development of adolescents autonomy which is very important for one to complete the transition from children to adult, to form self-identity and to take on the role and responsibility of adult. As a dimension of adolescents autonomy, adolescents emotional autonomy reflects the emotional changes during the course of the development of autonomy. It is a psychological course. In this course, one leads the degree of dependency on parent and authority fall down, relies on the resources of one-self, Self-regulation and Self-determination, and realizes one should take responsibility for behavior and emotion. Based on reviewing the concept, assessment instruments, the current research situations about emotional autonomy of adolescents and the social culture of our country, through Literature, Interview, Questionnaire survey, the paper designs the Adolescents Emotional Autonomy Scale. The relationship between adolescents emotional autonomy and family cohesion is discussed. The main conclusions drawn from this study are as follows: 1. We ascertain that the emotional autonomy of our adolescents include five dimensions. The five dimensions are: Non-dependency on authority, Parent de-idealization, Subject responsibility, Expect autonomy, Self-confidence. Through analysis and examining on the scale, the results indicate that Adolescents Emotional Autonomy Scale has good reliability and validity. 2. The relationship between emotional autonomy and family cohesion among Chinese adolescents is not significant. 3. The development of adolescents emotional autonomy can't induce family cohesion to decline. The development of adolescents emotional autonomy is not a form of deviation from family. 4. Demographic variables have influence on the emotional autonomy of adolescents. On the whole, gender has no important role,girls score is gently higher than boys , while boys development of emotional autonomy is higher than girls on whole course of adolescence. Age plays a very important role during the development of emotional autonomy, and there exists significant difference among different ages. Using interaction test on gender and age, the result indicates that the difference between gender and age is not significant. The emotional autonomy of adolescents from urban is higher than adolescents from rural. Family status, only-child or not has no significant influence on emotional autonomy of adolescents. Fathers educational degree has significant influence on adolescents emotional autonomy,while mothers educational degree has no significant influence on emotional autonomy of adolescents.
