School Students Self-conscious Emotions, Ability To Understand And Related Factors

One characteristic of adolescents within 13-17 is that their emotional intension are fluctuated quickly.More social problems were happened because of it.In these problems,many are related to error of the estimation to the situation of the time,the estimation to oneself and others.So,it is necessary to educate adolescents to control their emotions.Emotional understanding is the base for emotional control.With interview and questionnaire,174 adolescents were measured in self-conscious emotional understanding,self-esteem and family emotional expressiveness.The result shows that (1) By collecting the situation stories in 13-17 adolescents,the situation of pride,guilt,shame and embarrass in this research is academic achievement,responsibility in peer friendship,moral and interpersonal misplay,respectively.(2) The difference of self-conscious emotional understanding in 13-17 adolescents is significant between every two groups,the ability is the highest in 17 ages, and is the lowest in 15 ages.(3) Self-esteem is a independent variable in the regressive equation, and it will positive influence adolescents emotional understanding.(4) Under mother's positive emotional expressing,the orientation of self-esteem influencing emotional understanding will be changed.(5) Under mother's negative emotional expressing,the intension of self-esteem influencing emotional understanding will be weaken.(6) The orientation and the intension of self-esteem influencing emotional understanding will not be changed under father's emotional expressing.With the results of this research,the self-conscious emotional understanding of adolescents will be fluctuated with their self-esteem.The family's emotional expressing will change the orientation and the intension of self-esteem influencing emotional understanding.Therefore, special self-esteem and family's emotional expressing should be considered in planting adolescents self-conscious emotional understanding and in moral education.Adolescents will development well in mental according to this ways.
