It is well known that Yu Ping-bo gained great achievements in Redology and classical poetry studies. Nevertheless, he has always being overlooked as a modem poet and a poetry crictic. In fact, Mr. Yu's distinctness of writing and his construction of poetic theories and even his diversion of writing enriched extremely the studies on early modem Chinese poetry. This article explains Yu Ping-bo's writing and theories in order to grasp the 'relation' of early modem Chinese poetry, and hope to gain more modem significance.The article contains five parts.The introduction generalizes this topic's research actuality and its significance.In the first and second chapters, I discuss respectively Yu Ping-bo's poetry writing and theories. And in chapter 3, I explain the paradox and integration between Yu Ping-bo's poetry theories and his writing.In the ending of this article, I give attention to Yu Ping-bo's writing diversion and come up with his great significance to early modem Chinese poetry and even modem Chinese poetry.
