This thesis tries to give an objective evaluation to Panyue by unveiling Panyue's complicated mental state and emotional world, revealing Panyue's transmutation course between elevation and philistinism, unconstraint and pettiness, indifference and fickleness, and revealing his eventually tending towards corruption. It analyzes him from the angel of "human nature" through unscrambling Panyue's writings in the multiple backgrounds of ancient literature history, literature thought history and community life history.The whole thesis can be divided into four parts:Firstly, seeking fame and wealth: By the influence of Confucianism, Panyue longed for establishing character, making contributions, and setting up virtues, so he devoted himself into politics and strived to carry out his social value.Secondly, trying to escape from political confusion: By the influence of Taoism, he wanted to keep original nature and tried to be free from vulgarity and approach nature, he was willing to lead a watery and leisure life.Thirdly,tendency to philistinism: reveal Panyue's inhibiting individuality, forfeiting personality, pursuing material enjoy, clinging to political power and authority.Fourthly, sentimental heart: reveal Panyue's heart-stricken grief after losing friends, children and wife ,for he treasured friendship, relative and love so much.It was the specific political background, literature fashion, social...
