LiuJi was a renowned statesman and military strategist and writer during the period of the later Yuan Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty. As a historical famous cultural celebrity, All of Liu's the aspects are worthy of deep study. But the fact is it has been still a weak link in the research of his poems. We can grasp the true appearance of Liu's life and thought if only we could interpret Liu's poetry accurately. So the article plans to explore Liu's thought and its development though his poetry and analyze the main styles of depressed and grand and sad color in his poems. Then to analyze the relationship with the contemporaneous poetry and the significant and the influence while the poetry creation changed from the Yuan to the Ming so as to make an objective appraisal about LiuJi being "one of the two everybody in poem at the beginning of the Ming Dynasty".The article divides three parts. Introduction is a summary of the survey nature of documents about Liu's. The main part is divided four chapters. Chapter I elaborates Liu's experience and his poem creation which can bedivided three sections------the early, the middle, and the latter. Chapter IIelaborates the content of Liu's poems and talks about something of his literature idea leading to his poetry practice which tended to restore the ancient theory first of all, and then in two aspects being the indignation of the present and the sign of being used at present. Chapter III elaborates the leading artistic styles of depressed and grand and other characteristics of Liu's poems. Chapter IV elaborates the significance of Liu's poetry under the big historical background according to its content and its styles objectively and accurately. The third part is the conclusion reviewing the whole article and reaffirming the significance of Liu's poetry.
