A Research On Grand Ermanry Rites Of The Banqiao Islamic Menhuan Under The Perspective Of Country To Present

Ningxia Hui is the only provincial-level autonomous regions of Muslim most concentrated area. Wuzhong City has the highest percentage of Muslim population. Wuzhong’s Hui religious culture is more intense, Chinese Islam branches and Menhuans are more concentrated, and there are Islam Zheherenye Menhuan, Shazhigou’s and Hufuye Menhuan as well. These Menhuan have a very big impact on the muslims from Northwest China and even the whole country. " Ermanry Rites " ceremony, for the Chinese Islamic Zheherenye Menhuan, is a unique ritual for which it has its specific cultural meanings and characteristics. It is founded as the" Ermanry Rites " ceremony, coupled with long history of Muslim everyday culture and the accumulation whcih made Zheherenye Menhuan become a unique living culture, which is carrying a valuable asset such as the Hui community culture, life and history and many other aspects. " Ermanry Rites " ceremony is not only a link between the Hui peoplet themselves, the community and Allah, but also is the most representative ceremony of the Muslim community.The author selected Wuzhong Banqiao Menhuan " Ermanry " ceremony for the study case,for using of ethnographic fieldwork, interviews, participant observation and other methods to record the detailed ritual process of Ningxia Zheherenye Menhuan fifth generation leader Ma Hualong’s dcreased anniversary of which happened on the thirteenth of the first month of the lunar calendar. During the ceremony, the authored has many interviews with the imams, mosque workers, religious people, and government officials who attended the ceremony, to collect texts, images and other forms of first-hand information on the detailed field. Combined with the relevant literature, the " Ermanry " ceremony into the "Country to present" theoretical framework, the author is trying to use the theory to analysis the" Ermanry " ceremony, through the process of ritual scenes, space, personal figures, interactive contents, communications, and other rites to interpret symbols underlying the context and explore the meaning behind it.Through this comprehensive analysis of the " Ermanry " ceremony, the author understand the changes and development of this particular culture, and effectively recognize the importance of studies of this living culture. Also want to be able to show under the guidance of the national religion, and constantly adapt to embark on the road of modernization journey, as well as demonstrate the harmonious coexistence of state and religion, the scene of common progress.
