An Ecological Interpretation Of American Cultural Ecosystem

The world is composed of various ecosystems, which influence each other. The formation, development, and perdition of the ecosystems mean something to the changes and development of the whole ecosystem and other ecosystems. Culture is also composed of cultural ecosystems of different sizes. The changes and development of cultural ecosystems also have influences on the global cultural ecosystem and other ecosystems. As the most influential country in the world, the Untied States has made its culture pervasive in the world in various forms. The mightiness of American cultural ecosystem is also never seen in the world. This thesis intends to use the views and practices of ecology to study the formation of American cultural ecosystem and its relationship with other cultural ecosystems, and use the research as a basis to discuss how to preserve and develop a favorable environment in China and develop Chinese cultural ecosystem.In the Introduction section, the ecosystem and cultural ecosystem are concisely illustrated. The main contents of all chapters are also briefly introduced. The first chapter briefly introduces the related ideas and information of ecology and cultural ecology, giving the related background information. The second chapter looks back to the elements that contribute to and stimulate the formation of American cultural ecosystem. The natural environment of the United States provides a cradle for the formation of the unique American cultural ecosystem. However, the origin and innovations of American culture are the decisive factor in building American cultural character. Chapter three talks about the relationship between American cultural ecosystem and the global cultural ecosystem. And the fourth chaptertalks about the relationship between American cultural ecosystem and cultural ecosystems of other countries.After the reconsideration of the relationship between American cultural ecosystem and other cultural ecosystems, the conclusion is obtained that the continuous and limitless expansion of American cultural ecosystem will result in the simplification of world culture and the unbalance of global cultural ecosystem. In this case, two solutions—the strategy of sustainable development and the strategy of preserving the diversities—are suggested as the remedies for keeping the balance of global cultural ecosystem. And China is taken as an example of studying how to learn from the development and the mightiness of American cultural ecosystem and how to deal with foreign cultures so as to preserve the balance of global cultural ecosystem and make it develop healthily by helping develop other cultural ecosystems.
