This dissertation deals with the Buddhist religious discipline. The focal point of the paper is to interpret the history and develop of Buddhist religious discipline. The theme includes the following three aspects.The development of Buddhist religious discipline in India.During the early stage of Buddhism, Buddha managed the followers by his prestige and some admonitions. Afterward, a monk made sexual intercourse with his former wife, so Buddha formulated the first commandment . Before the prophase of Donghan dynasty, Buddhism and its mitzvah enter China from these countries located the west to our homeland.The spirits and ceremonial of Buddhist ever exist before Donghan dynasty. According to the multifarious materials, assuredly, Buddhism and its mitzvah entered China before Liuzhuang's governing.The text of discipline were translated constantly and applied before the metaphase of Tang dynasty, it is very important for Buddhism to actuate the normalization in a degree.One of the functions of Buddhist religious discipline is to harmonize the relations between society and Buddhism. During the course of translating and promulgating the discipline, some bonzes contrive the new Sinitic mitzvah. In fact, the new rules operated on the conducting the followers of Buddhism as a king ofnew order.Finally, Buddhist discipline has been a section of our conventional culture.
