This dissertation analyzes One Hundred Years of Solitude from the aspect of religion colonization and takes the history and religious culture into consideration in the purpose of bringing out its social significance through the macro-cultural context. The dissertation is divided into three parts. The first one is devoted into the discussion of the actual existence of religious colonization through the introduction of the historical transformation of Latin religion and culture. And this part facilitates later analysis by providing the historical background. The second part discusses in detail the Christianization process of Buendia—clan and the characteristic of "mix blood" under the influence of religion and culture in order to expatiate the impact and influence of cultural colonization to Latin native culture.
