Communicative Strategies Training

Communicative strategy studies began at early 1970s. The theoretical world has different opinions on communicative strategies training. But as far as higher vocational nursing students are concerned, the training is of practical significance. What's more, the goal of Jiangsu Provincial Higher Vocational Education English Syllabus for Nursing is put explicitly to help develop the student's communicative competence in using the English language.According to the observations, it becomes very imperative to train the students' communicative competence. The empirical study which is designed on the theoretical basis of social constructivist framework is done by mixing the communicative strategies training on approximation, circumlocution and appeals into English teaching for the period taking as long as one semester. The results show that the strategic competence is improved.
