De Gaulle's doctrine is the nationalism after the declination of a traditional powerful country, it once made outstanding contribution to rejuvenation of France after World War â…¡and regeneration of big country's status. To insist the independent diplomatic and defense, to promote European construction actively, and serve as the arbitrator between America and the Soviet Union; to resist as well as keep talking to the Soviet Union; to emphasizing the connection between the third world and France, all these are the main contents of De Gaulle's doctrine. De Gaulle's doctrine hasn't disappeared with the passing away of De Gaulle, it has been inherited and developed in international politics instead. Until nowadays, the policy that similar to De Gaulle's doctrine still plays a unique role on the international arena. To study De Gaulle's doctrine has a borrowed meaning to the peaceful rising strategy of our country under present complicated international situation. Till nowadays, to study the De Gaulle's doctrine is not abundant in our country, and the evaluation to it is not overall and meticulous. This article attempts to be divided into three parts to study De Gaulle's doctrine: at first, it point out the intension and essence of De Gaulle's doctrine, and analyses it's foundation of thought; second part concentrate on probing into its main behavior, which includes four aspects: the struggle to America, the European construction, eastern policy and decolonization; on this basis, it makes overall appraisal on De Gaulle's doctrine theoretically further, to analyze the progressive influence and also point out its limitation.
