There are various reasons as to why Charles de Gaulle could lead the Resistance Movement to success. The following three aspects are relatively fully discussed in the thesis. The first part studies the wide spreading of the Surrenderists and the rise of Charles de Gaulle. the basic reason for the failure of France is the corruption of the French government and the wide spreading of the surrenderism. The surrendered government, with despotism in politics, helped Germany oppress patriotic heroes and communists, and helped Germany economically. With great courage, strong perseverance, unyielding personality and hypostatic confidence, Charles de Gaulle, with the help of England, acquired the support of the world and started a difficult overseas fighting. The second part explores the strategic errors of Germany and the birth of the Free France. on May 24, 1940, the order which stopped tank of A Group army taking the offensive made the allies retreat from Dunkirk successfully. It kept the living power for England. The decision that bombed London gives England the chance for recovery. Finally, Germany lost the domination of air over England. Thus, England, which provided the base for Charles de Gaulle's existence and developments, kept on living. The decision of two lines'fighting, which finally decides the perdition of Hitler and Germany, provides the international backgrounds for Charles de Gaulle's development. De Gaulle realized that England and France, based on the common interest, could form an alliance. Therefore, he strived for England's support vigorously. from then on, Free France was born and grew strong gradually. The signing of"8·7 Agreement", and especially the solving of budget problem was very important for the development of the earlier period of Free France. On many diplomacy situations, England also stood on the part in France. The third part studies the development under the supports and discriminations of British and American. With the development of situation and for the pressure from the United States, a series of conflicts arose between England and Charles de Gaulle and became more and more seriously. Under the situation of antifascist war, Charles de Gaulle made use of the Soviet and England as allies to match the United States, obtained victory and defeated the interference of the United States mainly on the three affairs: Saint Pierre and Miquelon affair, proping up Giraud, the establishment of"the allies military government. Finally, Charles de Gaulle got the support of French people and obtained success. The reason for victory of the Resistance Movement led by Charles de Gaulle, was that his struggles represented the justice request of France liberation cause. The finally victory was historical and inevitable. On the post-war international stage, France always speaks with independent voice due to the influence of Charles de Gaulle's spirit.
