Research On The Crude Language In Korean

Crude Language was used in the conversation with strangers when we do not know how to treat in the past. However, it is normally used between the people who know each other well and have intimate relationship in this modern society with intention of close relationship between persons.This paper focuses on the points that whether Korean language can have "crude language" or not, which kind of suffixes belong to "crude language"and how to classify the suffixes.This paper is divided into five parts.Chapter one: In this introductory part, it goes over the previous research situations about the "crude language", pointing out the necessity that we should study nature property of "crude language", whichhas not agreement yet, in many ways.Chapter two: In this part, on the basis of examining the definitions of "crude language" from some grammar books, it readjustments this definition. Then it states the characteristics about mode and title of "crude language".Chapter three: In thepart of grade, it examines the points of views about grade of ranks closely, classifying into "research on the basis substandard", "research on the basis of formality", and "research on the basis of informality", according to the degree of similarity in content. On the basis of examination about the problems, it takes the grade of rank as informal one.Chapter four : It is the part of fixing end suffixes showing "crude language"and the classification. In this part, it analyzes the basis ofestablishing end suffixes at first, in the meanwhile, the following problems resulting from considering the end suffixes of "crude language" that we want to set up as "end suffixes". Then, it makes certain standard about the end suffixes indicating "crude language"that have small differences among grammar books and classifies.Chapter five: It is the part of conclusion. The research in this paper remains at the general and elementary stage and have many problems. However, it is the attempt to bring some benefit to the issues relating with the definition of "crude language" that has not agreement, crude language's grade of rank in the title system, settingup of end suffixes and so on. The research in this field will proceed extensively and thoroughly.
