Stone inscription during the Han Wei Jin and the Northern and Southern Dynasties not only takes a very important station in history but also reflects the factual visage of tongues at that time. Since the Song Dynasty, though many researches had been carried out on the stone inscription, most of them focused on the grapheme, calligraphy, history, archaeology etc, the study and research on the phenomenon of characters usage became quite weak.The thesis mostly consults {Interpretation of the Inscription on Tablet During the Han Wei Jin and The Northern and Southern Dynasties)) (to be published recently) written by Dr.Mao Yuanming and focuses on the study of the phonetic loan characters of epitaph on inscription on tablet during the Wei Jin and the Northern and Southern Dynasties, in order to reflect the visage of sound and do some basic work for the sound research usage at that time, meanwhile, to provide some new materials for the dynamic development of characters and sound research.The thesis also compares and researches the phonetic loan characters on in the epitaph tablet with the new pictophonetic and the semasiography characters, in order to analyze the usage and nature of them as well as the trend of the phonetic loan characters, which would do some positive impact on the Chinese characters development.The thesis is made up of four chapters. Chapter one surveys the conception of the phonetic loan characters and correlative questions, which consists of two sections: the first section is the conception of the phonetic loan characters, and the second one mostly expatiates the differences and relations between the phonetic loan characters and the other correlative confusing conceptions.
