In Chinese modern literature history, Lu Ling is a "particular"author. He is particular, not only as he is brim with talent, he wrote length novel Money-bags'Children which is boundless and effective, but also his life was full of ups and downs. When he was middle-aged and situated in peak period on writing, he had to stop writing because of "Hu Feng Event". He disappeared from literature and art field for more than twenty years. Although Lu Ling's writing period isn't very long, we have known his particular character and morals about art and life by his many writings. That is putting to use "unsuitable"writing way to expound his art and life pursuit. Lu Ling's writing purpose was in accord with many advanced authors. The purposes concluded: regarding person as core, exposing darkness in the society deeply, strong rebellion and longing for the appearance of new person and society. But Lu Ling lived in the 40's and 40's was a period which was full of hope and twilight. In such a period, Lu Ling always had creative consciousness and refused to mend his way. He tried to deviate and break through the restraint of popular social thought, so that he possessed profound modern society consciousness and aesthetics consciousness. Modern consciousness in Lu Ling's novels is the key clue and internal frame. And the paper studies Lu Ling's particular pursuit for art and life profoundly and specifically. Lu Ling lived in the 40's of China and he used a particular way to express his patriotic feelings. He tried to know the dialectical relations about the world and nation, city and country, modernization and tradition, individual and group, art and benefit, borrowing and inheritance and so on. He depended on his exceptional life experiences, exposed the darkness in the present civilization, wished China to join the modern civilization ranks in the world and explored useful prescription to eliminate imperfect civilization. Lu Ling judged mass'manners in the society on basis of complicated and various humanities. Lu Ling made his figures using primitive force to revolt the ugliness and drawbacks of civilization with all his heart, and he hoped to remove people's mental slavery scar. But soon after he found that this method failed to produce new modern Chinese. So Lu Ling began to ponder over the existence of modern individual and nation. He regarded wandering consciousness as new starting point and explored new way to realize liberation of nation and people. Lu Ling's aesthetics consciousness is also "particular". Although he didn't agree with learning from the mass and folk arts unconditionedly, he didn't cast nation's essence aside and imitated foreign countries blindly. His writings rooted deeply in the nation literature's soil and then related with advanced foreign art experience closely. His aesthetic pursuit was distinctly pioneering. When he used description art, psychological description skills and created image, he could get modernization and tradition, borrowing and inheritance together perfectly. The aesthetics character in his writings is various, abundant, particular. The factors about forming modern consciousness of Lu Ling are various and complicated. There is a discussion of it in the paper. It concludes: particular life experiences, effects from excellent civil literature tradition, learning from foreign literature creatively. The paper comprehensively and profoundly studies modern consciousness in Lu Ling's novels by discussing modern society consciousness and modern aesthetics consciousness. At the end of the paper, I compare Lu Ling's novels with popular novels of the 40's simply and hope the works may recover the real looks in the 40's of the 20 century. At the same time I hope to have a deep research in this aspect.
