Research On Hunan Embroidery's State Of Nature & Market Development

Chinese embroidery with a long history has been an important part of the treasure of Chinese traditional art and crafts. Under the influence of different culture in various regions, Chinese traditional embroidery assumes diversity of features and culture. Hunan embroidery is a kind of craft with the feature of Hunan culture created by diligent and intelligent Hunan people during the long historic development of men's civilization. Hunan embroidery is famous for its spacious content and excellent workmanship, and together with Suzhou embroidery, Guangzou embroidery, and Sichuan embroidery is called "Chinese Four Famous Embroideries".As a traditional craft with regional features, Hunan embroidery has a deep relation with antique culture of Ethnic Miao and brilliant culture of state of Chu in South China. This thesis starts with the elaboration of the historic culture background of Hunan embroidery's initiation, trying to explain Southern China's embroidery has the sme long history as Northern China's; nextly the thesis furtherly presents various connections between Chu's culture tradition and its nature existanting form-folk embroidery, and form and essence of Chu culture.Finally, the thesis summarizes the content and form changes under the influence of commodity economy. The thesis discusses that after entering the industrial society, how traditional Hunan embroidery reforms the update of modern society; how to keep ethnic and regional features; how Hunan embroidery satifies the demand of modern life in content, workmanship and material, and adapts to the taste of modern sociey by comprehensively using modern science and technology results.
