In our everyday communication, we tend to avoid repeating the words that have already been used before. This is our purpose of avoiding the repetition of the same words. In this way, people will not get bored. It is also the result of language economy. Therefore, we will use a simple word for substitution. The same replacing phenomenon can be found in other languages as well. It is a device set to make language used in a more simple way. Reflexives are the typical ones of such kinds. The aim of this paper is to analyze morphologies of reflexives in Korean and to find out this basis that reflexives are defined by the sub-classifications of pronouns. This paper studies plenty of analyses of reflexives morphologies that were made by scholars so far.The results are summarized as below:First, from the sequence of the text and language environment, we could see that always take the place of other referential objects. These words arenot so much naming objects as replacing them. Such morphologies as play an important role in text. They function as the substitution of the subject orreference of the antecedent nouns or pronouns.Second, though are personal pronouns, they perform as reflexives in specific conditions in the texts.Third, the criteria of judging whether the noun is a personal pronoun or a reflexive is also the issue of ordinary reference or reflexive reference. The antecedent of reflexive must appear in the same text. So the reflexive just refer to it completely.Fourth, there are certain morphologies that perform as reflexives in Korean. We could sum it into one category, i.e.to consider reflexives as the sub-classification of pronouns. The above conclusions are made at theinitial phase. We should make further research based on all the results that have been obtained so far. The issues such as the point of view of the reflexives, reflexives and command are not touched upon in this paper. However, they are primary subjects that should be solved in the study of reflexives in Korean.
